GWが始まり、中には4月26日から11連休って方もいるようで羨ましい限りです｡
今年は私もちょいと休みをいただきまして、先日一人旅に出てきました｡

2日の朝、ちょっと早めに博多駅に向かいます｡
GWとはいえ平日ということもあって人ではそれほど多くありません｡
ここ最近JR九州の改札を通ってないなぁ、なんて思いながら新幹線乗り場へ・・・
今回は短距離ですのでのぞみ以外の自由席でいいかなと思ったのですが、WESTERポイントの超特典きっぷが使えたのでのぞみの指定席を利用します｡
こういう企画もののきっぷはかなりお得ですので、行き先や旅行の予定が上手く合えば使わない手はありません｡

博多を出て30分ほど、ほんのわずかの時間ですが下車します｡




降り立ったのは昭和の香りがぷんぷん漂うかつての｢おごほり駅｣こと新山口駅。
ここからスーパーな気動車に乗って北上します｡




乗車する列車は｢スーパーおき｣で出雲市まで向かいます｡
出雲市まで行くとなればその先はどうするのかもうお分かりだと思いますが、とりあえず乗車・・・

前回乗ったときは下からの突き上げが酷くて苦痛の3時間半だったのですが、なんと今回は乗り心地がかなり改善されてました｡
線路のメンテナンスなのか、果たして車両の個体差だったのか、理由は分かりませんが今回は酷い突き上げを感じることはありませんでした｡
まぁ考えられるのは乗車位置、かなぁ・・・
前回は車両後方の台車に近い部分だったのですが、今回は丁度真ん中。
一般的に車両中央のほうが車端部よりも乗り心地はいいと言われていますが、まさに今回はそのケースだったのかと思います｡
ただね、あまりにも違いが大きすぎるのでそれだけが理由なのかちょっと・・・
まぁとにかく大きな不満もなく出雲市駅に到着し途中下車します｡

ちなみに今回出雲市に向かうにあたって新山口から｢スーパーおき｣で行くか、岡山から｢やくも｣で行くか悩んだんですよね｡
単に車両の善し悪しで言えば圧倒的に｢やくも｣に軍配が上がるのですが、｢スーパーおき｣で行った方が運賃が安いから、ただそれだけですw
新幹線の超特典きっぷの方は指定席特急券と乗車券がセットになったきっぷになるのですが、正規料金の25%相当のポイントで買えちゃいます｡
また｢スーパーおき｣のWESTERポイント特典きっぷは特急券のみですが半額相当のポイントで乗れます｡
つまり今回は博多→新山口までの新幹線指定席特急券と乗車券、そして｢スーパーおき｣の指定席特急券は企画券で料金0円のいわゆる｢0円券｣ということになります｡
こういうきっぷが席数限定で売り出されますのでWESTERポイントが貯まっていれば積極的に使った方がいいですね｡

さて、出雲市に到着したのは昼過ぎです｡
ここからさらにある列車に乗車するのですが、こんな時間に乗る列車とはなんぞや？
